We seek to offer an eclectic mix of interesting, high quality, reasonably priced products that stand out in the market. South Moon Under currently operates 31 stores in the mid-Atlantic area, VA, MD, PA, DE, NJ, CT, AL, and GA in addition to an E-commerce site. Our home base is located in Annapolis, MD.

South Moon Under is looking for female and male fashion models, local to Annapolis, Baltimore, and DC, for part-time freelance work. Candidates considered would fit the requirements in the criteria below. You should have a great smile and attitude with a healthy glow. Must be at least 18 years of age and able to work in US.

Ecommerce Production Assistant

We are currently seeking an Ecommerce Production Assistant to assist us with production of website content (building and launching product pages as well as category pages and site merchandising). The successful candidate will have a general understanding about merchandising, a strong command of the English language, will show an initiative to learn, and will be detail-oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Site Content and Merchandising
  • Write concise, brand appropriate product names and descriptions following standard SEO best-practices for copywriting
  • Assist in execution of site merchandising to drive increased ecommerce sales and support marketing strategies. Ensure that all products are correctly categorized across site. Assist in building unique categories for emails and digital marketing. Leverage cross-sell and upsell opportunities to drive increased UPT and AOV
  • Proactively review site content for issues and inconsistencies (typos, broken images, merchandising issues, etc.), ensuring accuracy of all web content (meta tags, page headers, etc.)
  • Reference third party brands to assist in creating accurate production descriptions
  • Be aware of fashion terminology and current trends for optimal product naming and merchandising suggestions
  • Production Process
  • Independently manage the product upload process/flow from the time of handoff to the time of product page completion
  • Review and update tracking documents to ensure all products are live ahead of expected arrival dates and respond quickly to exceptions and immediate arrivals to ensure that products are live as soon as inventory is available
  • Coordinate online production workflow with the Photo Studio and Creative teams and partner with various teams to enable production related site marketing enhancements and projects such as digital lookbooks
  • Stage, track, and assign pre-orderable allocation to marketing products
  • Assist in reactivating and deactivating products as needed
  • Suggest ongoing process improvements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in ecommerce or merchandising preferred
  • Experience in Demandware/Salesforce web platform a plus
  • Technologically savvy with an ability to navigate web platform to input and customize data and product and learn new software and web tools quickly
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills, must be approachable, positive and flexible
  • Self-starter, able to meet and set own deadlines and keep manager appraised as required
  • Collaborative, highly motivated team player with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills within a deadline oriented environment
  • Available to work flexible hours in evening/weekend on occasion if business needs require
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Merchandise Planner

We are actively seeking an experienced Merchandise Planner to drive revenue and margin through strategic seasonal merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, actionable reporting and insightful analysis focused on the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, in partnership with Merchandising, six-month Seasonal Merchandise Plans
  • Partner with Merchandising and Allocation to manage the Monthly Business Review (MBR) process through the development of sales, margin, receipt and inventory forecasts, supporting these forecasts with unit projections, and reporting unit performance and forecasts and receipt issues during the MBR meetings
  • Manage the receipts and inventory against targeted weeks of supply objectives and partner with Merchants to recommend actions that drive sales and maximize gross margin by ensuring best receipt flow
  • Partner with Merchandising to develop an assortment to maximize sales and margin for each buy period, ensuring the appropriate costs, retails and number of customer choices to achieve each period’s targets
  • Develop and manage markdown, promotional and exit strategies for seasonal programs
  • Conduct periodic reviews with Allocation to ensure that buy quantities and stock levels meet current sales trends
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly hindsight recaps (department, style, size range) and present at monthly meeting and apply lessons learned toward framework for future deliveries and reaction to current business trends.
  • Develop Weekly Unit Plans for major programs and Key Items to determine sales goals

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 5-8 years of specialty retail experience with a minimum of 2 years as a Planner in Women’s Apparel
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Demonstrated team leadership
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and current trends

Sales Associate

Status: Full-Time and Part-Time Employee

At South Moon Under, members of the team create an exciting and inspiring shopping experience for our customers. We utilize product knowledge and selection to provide exceptional service to our customers. In addition, we build sales and provide a store experience that reflects South Moon Under's customer service standards and aesthetic. In addition to selling, our sales associates are expected to execute merchandising tasks, such as stock, re-merchandising, display, price markdowns, and transfers. All members of our store team work together to ensure a clean, pleasant and safe shopping environment for our customers.
 
The ideal candidate will be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs that include daytime, evening, weekends and holiday shifts. We can provide flexibility in scheduling, a fun exciting environment, and a generous employee discount.

At South Moon Under, members of the management team serve as leaders in their store, coaching and developing the staff to provide an outstanding level of customer service that will, in turn, maximize sales and profits. All of our Assistant Managers must have a complete understanding of the South Moon Under philosophy, aesthetic and customer.
 
The South Moon Under 1st and 2nd Assistants possesses strong leadership skills. They work closely with the sales staff to deliver product knowledge, drive sales and uphold operational standards. They have excellent communication skills and a full understanding of how to motivate people.
 
Successful candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs that include daytime, evening, weekends and holiday shifts, as well as having at least one year of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment.
